Description: Aluminum triphosphate(AlH2P3O10・2H2O) is a white powder slightly soluble in water characterized by a laminar structure composed of crystal platelets. The controlled release of the tripolyphosphate ion from aluminum triphosphate forms an excellent protective film over the surface of iron and/or zinc metal substrates. This film exhibits excellent corrosion inhibition. The aluminum triphosphate contains two molecules of water of crystallization, which will be released around 105℃ and become an anhydrous compound with a reversible hydration reaction.
A Silica and Magnesium compound is specially designed to change the pH of oxygen in water, which penetrates the coating film, to an alkalinity at which the zinc ion(Zn2+) is hard to dissolve. This compound sequesters the dissolution of the zinc ion on the metal surface at the initial onset of corrosion. At the anodic side, the silicate ion (SiO44-) bonds with the zinc ion(Zn2+) to form a zinc silicate film and at the cathodic side magnesium ion(Mg2+) bonds with the hydroxy ion(OH-) to give a magnesium hydroxide film. These passivation films, formed together on the metal surface impart excellent anticorrosive performance.
